Empathy and How We Listen

I’ve Been Thinking… About Empathy and How We Listen

We’ve never been more connected — or more divided.

Our feeds show us people who already think like we do.
Those who don’t? They disappear.

That bothers me.
Not because I want to argue — but because I want to understand.

Somewhere along the way, we turned curiosity into confrontation.
We stopped asking why someone believes what they do,
and started assuming we already know.

I’m not interested in us vs. them.
I’m interested in us — period.

Empathy isn’t agreement.
It’s taking a moment to see the person before the opinion.
The story before the stance.

We’re stronger together —
not because we’re the same,
but because we’re different and still choose compassion.

Maybe the most radical thing we can do online
is stop scrolling long enough to listen.

How do you genuinely listen and understand others — especially those you don’t agree with?

Stay curious. Stay human. And always, be kind.
